Thiago Silva wants to stay at Chelsea to help incoming manager Mauricio Pochettino to rebuild the club after a poor season.
Pochettino does not officially begin his reign as Blues boss until July, but has been involved in speaking to players and making decisions about futures – including ending Joao Felix’s time at Stamford Bridge.
Silva, 38, was one of many players who might have been moved on from the Blues in the summer revamp – but the Brazilian defender has made it clear that he wants to stay with Chelsea.
As reported by the Evening Standard, he was voted Chelsea’s player of the season, and remains in contract at the Blues for another year.
Also his family are settled in London, with his sons Isago and Iago in the Chelsea academy, and his wife Belle seemingly enjoying life in the English capital, and recently attended one of Beyonce’s concerts in north London.

Mauricio Pochettino will have to make some decisions about Chelsea defenders when he joins
It means that despite being linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, or a return to Brazil, it seems unlikely that this will happen, at least for the time being.
Pochettino will have to make some tricky decisions about Chelsea’s defensive options.
Levi Colwill is due back at Chelsea for pre-season after a great loan spell at Brighton, while Kalidou Koulibaly, Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile are all big-money purchases who may be difficult to sell-on after the Blues’ defensive struggles this term.
Chelsea youth product Trevoh Chalobah, 23, may leave the club after sixteen years of service to the Blues, with defensive opportunities limited.
Mail Sport previously reported that the London side hope to make £25m by selling him to Champions League finalists Inter Milan.
