Tyson Fury could retire AGAIN, claims Frank Warren – with the Gypsy King ‘p****d off’ at the collapse of his undisputed heavyweight title fight with Oleksandr Usyk

  • Fury and Usyk were in negotiations for an undisputed heavyweight clash
  • Talks broke down as an agreement couldn’t be reached by either side
  • Usyk is set to pursue a fight with Daniel Dubois while Fury could retire again

Frank Warren has made a sensational claim that Tyson Fury could announce his retirement from boxing again after talks over an undisputed heavyweight clash against Oleksandr Usyk broke down.

The revelation that Fury could call it quits for a second time comes after contract negotiations between Fury and Usyk’s camp were dead in the water.

The Ukrainian is now thought to be pursuing a bout with Daniel Dubois as a mandatory challenger for one of Usyk’s titles – with Dubois also promoted by Warren.

This leaves Fury’s future uncertain, with Warren admitting that the heavyweight is not happy and could retire as he told Seconds Out: ‘Listen, he may retire – I don’t know what he wants to do. He’ll do whatever he wants to do. He’s the guy getting in the ring.

‘Everyone sitting outside making their comments, I find it quite insulting. Tyson Fury who went to Germany, done all the things that Usyk done, beat the best guy of his generation (then champion Wladimir Klitschko), went to America and beat the hardest punching guy (Deontay Wilder).’

It was understood that Usyk was not believed to be happy with his team’s concession of a 70-30 purse split in Fury’s hometown favour and this led to talks breaking down.

Warren continued to reveal that Fury is frustrated with Usyk’s camp as talks broke down after he had been training for the heavyweight bout and to become the undisputed heavyweight champion.

‘Tyson’s a bit (*p***** off) because, obviously, he’s been in training constantly,’ Warren continued.

‘He’s got his trainer in. It’s not a conversation. Everything’s too raw at the moment. We’ll work it out.’

If Fury decides to announce his retirement again, Warren will support his decision.

He said: ‘Tyson’s a very philosophical guy, and he will do whatever he chooses to do. And whatever he chooses to do, I’m there with him.’

The promoter, who could be involved in negotiations with Usyk’s camp once again if a fight against Dubois happens, finalised by labelling Usyk as a hypocrite.

‘I genuinely thought he said what he wanted – he don’t care about money, he just wants to fight for the four belts,’ Warren concluded.

‘But he pulled out of the fight. You can dress it up, slag off me, slag off Tyson Fury. They pulled out.’
