Tyson Fury is not confident over fight with Anthony Joshua taking place soon as negotiations surrounding the mouth-watering all-British unification bouts drag on.

It was revealed in the summer of last year that the Gypsy King is set to take on Joshua in two 2021 fights that are likely to bring all the heavyweight belts together.

But Fury has revealed that the talks involving the date are the terms are a long way from being resolved, though believes the fight has to happen ‘sooner or later’.

Fury told iFL TV: ‘Until I have a date, a fight and a hell of a lot of money in my pocket, there’s no fight. There are a lot of things that people don’t know that can scupper a fight.

‘Nothing’s actually on until you’re in the ring, we’re nowhere near that at the moment.

‘Do I think the fight will eventually happen sooner or later? Yes, it has to happen. Do I think it’s imminent? No.’

Fury has also hinted that American rival Deontay Wilder could be his next opponent in what would be a trilogy fight between the pair.

After the Gypsy King and Wilder controversially drew the first fight, Fury knocked down Wilder 13 months ago to become a world heavyweight champion for the second time.

British icon Fury had previously dismissed the idea of a third Wilder fight but the 32-year-old claimed the American could be his next challenger if the Joshua talks do not progress.

Fury added: ‘Don’t write Deontay Wilder off out the equation, he could be fighting me next, who knows? I could have a trilogy with Wilder yet.

‘There’s a lot of stuff going on behind the scenes and Wilder might be next, who knows?’

Despite the 32-year-old’s concerns, the Briton’s promotional team have been confident over an agreement for some time now.

Fury’s US promoter Bob Arum claimed in February that there were just a ‘handful of issues’ to resolve on the negotiating table while UK representative Frank Warren even went as far to say that an announcement is ‘imminent’.

Arum told talkSPORT recently: ‘What I can say is that everything is agreed, it’s an imminent announcement and we’ve got to work on a site. It’s absolutely moving in the right direction and everybody is on the same page.

‘Nobody is more frustrated than the fighters and us, we’ve worked like you cannot believe to get this over the line. I think Tyson is a bit peed off about it because it’s dragging on and on and on.’
