Vicky White Update, an Alabama prison officer, has vanished after accompanying convict Casey White to a court hearing.
Vicky White, Lauderdale County’s assistant director of corrections, claimed she was transporting Casey White, the inmate, to the county courts on Friday morning.
Casey White was serving 75 years for a series of crimes in 2015, including a home invasion, carjacking, and police pursuit, according to the US Marshals Service. He was charged with two counts of capital murder in the stabbing death of 58-year-old Connie Ridgeway in 2015.
As per Lauderdale County District Attorney Chris Connolly, he admitted to the murder in 2020 before pleading not guilty. White was being held at the detention center for his trial.
The two haven’t been seen since, and the US Marshals Service is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to the inmate’s capture and the officer’s location.

Vicky White, deputy director of prisons for the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office, said that she was taking convict Casey White to the county courts for a mental health evaluation.
However, the officer and the inmate, who are unrelated, never arrived at the courthouse. Investigators later discovered that Casey White had no assessment or hearing planned for that day.
Over the weekend, authorities considered many scenarios, including whether Vicky White had been kidnapped by the inmate or assisted him in escaping, either through pressure or her own free will, Singleton told CNN.
According to the sheriff, officials looked for video security footage in the area where the patrol vehicle was discovered on Saturday but found no proof that the two guys were getting into another car.
Singleton said Sunday that the sheriff’s office is following up on information that could lead to the identification of the vehicle in which the two were left, but that “nothing is confirmed at this time.”

She’s been with the agency for nearly two decades. Additionally, Vicky submitted her retirement paperwork to the department last week, according to Singleton, who described her as “an exemplary employee with a spotless record.”
