Bachelor Nation was stunned on Tuesday when just one day after The Bachelor finale aired creator Mike Fleiss announced his exit from the franchise. No real reason was given for Fleiss deciding to leave the franchise he built after launching the show in 2002. Now that Fleiss is out, could this leave a door open for former host Chris Harrison to return? Keep reading to find out more.

Could former Bachelor host Chris Harrison return to the show?

Mike Fleiss is leaving The Bachelor in good hands as he announces his exit from the long-running hit reality series. Upon his exit, Fleiss told Variety, “First and foremost, congratulations are in order for Zach and Kaity. I wish them a long and happy life together.” He continued by saying, The Bachelor Season 27 couple. “I want to thank WBTV and ABC for 21 extraordinary years. They’ve found the perfect creative team for me to entrust The Bachelor franchise and keep this lightening in a bottle bold and moving forward. Let the journey continue.”

Taking his place are experienced workers on the show including Claire Freeland, Jason Ehrlich and Bennett Graebner.

The indication is that the show will go on after Fleiss but another question looms after recent rumors. There has been talk that perhaps executives at ABC had been discussing bringing back former host Chris Harrison after ratings appeared to be sinking. Could Chris return and force Jesse Palmer off the show as the current host?

Harrison has said that he would be surprised if the talks were not happening in regard to him returning as host. Fans have long since pleaded with ABC to reinstate the beloved host after he was forced out for defending contestant Rachael Kirkconnell. Since being given a settlement, Harrison moved to Texas with fiance Lauren Zima. He has recently launched his own podcast.

Production to blame?

In recent seasons, production has been blamed for mega drama happening on all of  The Bachelor franchise shows. Former contestants have hinted that production is infamous for editing to make some look bad and stir the pot.

Is all the drama caused by production causing ratings to drop? Some fans believe it is saying that they want real love stories, not women fighting over men and creating needless, petty drama.

Zach Shallcross seems to be on the right path. While many fans deemed him boring, he was set on finding his wife and did propose on the finale Monday night. When Zach encountered drama he essentially ended the relationship and sent home anyone who stirred things up.

So, with new showrunners will the show change at all? Could Chris Harrison return? Fans will have to wait and see.

What do you think of all these changes?
