Chicago Fire’s Alberto Rosende Leaves Series After Four Seasons As Blake

Alberto Rosende’s “Chicago Fire” departure is just another reason Season 12 will look different. Earlier this month it was confirmed that the upcoming season will be the last for Kara Killmer, who has played paramedic Sylvie Brett since 2014. There are changes behind the camera as well. Season 12 will be helmed solely by showrunner Andrea Newman, whose co-showrunner Derek Haas exited the series in 2022. That said, it’s not all despair in Firehouse 51. Next season, Taylor Kinney is returning following his lengthy Season 11 hiatus.

As for Rosende, his departure from the series was reportedly amicable. In all likelihood, the actor is looking to add some more projects to his resume. Prior to “Chicago Fire,” Rosende appeared in episodes of “Blue Bloods” and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.” Between 2016 and 2019, he portrayed Simon Lewis in the Freeform drama series “Shadowhunters.” Rosende will make his final “Chicago Fire” appearance in the Season 12 premiere on Wednesday, January 17.
