Many devoted firemen have graced the hallways of Firehouse 51, but few have bravely gone above and beyond as much as Blake Gallo of Chicago Fire (Alberto Rosende). In Season 8 of the NBC suspense thriller, Chi-Hards got to know the exuberant young firefighter as he ascended a five-story building to assist a civilian in fleeing a dangerous scenario.

He was an ardent romantic and an unending source of kindness; he was a beloved first responder and a much-valued friend. Firehouse 51 has observed that Gallo is an incredibly dedicated firefighter who puts equal amounts of heart and energy into all he does.

Before leaving at the start of Season 12, Gallo made an impression on viewers with every Chicago Fire episode that followed, earning a reputation for his ambition and careless risk-taking when presented with difficult decisions.

In the Season 12 premiere (“Barely Gone”), Gallo moved to Michigan to be closer to his aunt and his recently discovered extended family, leaving Chicago Fire behind. Gallo lost his family in a devastating house fire when he was a child, and he went years without any assistance from anybody save his 51 coworkers.

In Season 11 of Chicago Fire, Gallo’s aunt offered him a place to reside in Detroit so he could be closer to his extended family, a possibility he accepted. After Gallo, then 51, accepted the invitation to go to Detroit, he made one more trip to the firehouse to bid his chosen family farewell.

In Chicago Fire Season 8, Episode 2 (“A Real Shot in the Arm”), Gallo traveled to Firehouse 51 after being selected as a possible candidate following the untimely passing of Brian “Otis” Zvonecek (Yuri Sardarov). Gallo was an ambitious new recruit who was determined to make a name for himself as 51’s model candidate from the beginning.

But his bosses were worried about his recklessness on the job, especially Chief Wallace Boden (Eamonn Walker) and Matt Casey (Jesse Spencer), who have lost far too many of their fellow firefighters over the years, and Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney), who frequently took chances and made snap decisions while on calls.

Gallo told Casey in Season 8, Episode 6 (“What Went Wrong”) that he had lost his entire family in a home fire when he was a boy and that he had always looked up to the firefighters who had saved him after receiving criticism for taking a hazardous risk at work.

How Did Gallo Find His Family? what happened to gallo on chicago fire

In Season 11 of Chicago Fire, Gallo’s terrible upbringing returned to haunt him, but it also brought about some pleasant surprises. In “Danger Is All Around,” the tenth episode, Gallo was visited by his Aunt Lacey, who had come back to Chicago to atone for her desertion by handing him a key to a storage locker that would reveal priceless family antiques and mementos.

Gallo found the finding to be satisfying after years of not knowing anything about his past or family. It also sparked a renewed interest in establishing a contact with his aunt and other family members, which finally led to his departure from Chicago in Season 12.
