Cleveland Browns’ Myles Garrett is ‘good to go’ for Sunday’s game after horrific car crash two weeks ago that left him with multiple strains, sprains and cuts

After returning to practice earlier this week, Myles Garrett will play on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers less than two weeks after a horrific car crash left him injured.

‘Good to go,’ head coach Kevin Stefanski said on Friday, after Garrett was removed from the injury report. ‘Excited to have him back out there.’

Garrett flipped his Porsche on September 26, resulting in a sprained shoulder, strained biceps, cuts, bruises, and a broken blood vessel in his eye.

He was treated for several hours at an area hospital alongside an unidentified female passenger who was with him in the vehicle.

Garrett was released from the hospital, spend a few days resting, and returned to the team Thursday before being ruled out for their game against the Falcons that Sunday.

Earlier this week, he returned to practice and called the crash a ‘wake-up call’.

‘Good to have Myles even in the walkthrough, just having his presence and having him in the meetings,’ coach Kevin Stefanski said before practice earlier this week.

‘He’s a big part of what we do, so good to have him back out there. I haven’t seen him practice yet. He’s worked out, obviously off to the side. But I get to watch practice today and get a good feel for where he is.’

Without Garrett and defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, who missed his second game in a row with an ankle injury suffered on Sept. 18, the Browns lacked a strong pass rush against the Falcons. Atlanta also ran the ball at will, racking up 202 yards rushing.

‘They’re both really physical football players in the run and in the pass,’ Stefanski said. ‘When you’re playing run defense and you’re knocking people back and you’re setting the edge and sometimes you’re setting the edge so someone else can make the play. Both of those guys are adept at that.’

Clowney continues to be sidelined. Stefanski said he hopes the three-time Pro Bowler will practice this week.

All-Pro guard Joel Bitonio (biceps/rest), tight end Harrison Bryant (illness), wide receiver Amari Cooper (rest) and tight end David Njoku (knee/rest) were all kept out of practice.

Cleveland’s defense did get back cornerback Greedy Williams, who missed the first four games with a hamstring injury.
