Definitely maybe! Erling Haaland jokes he can end the feud between Noel and Liam Gallagher and REUNITE Oasis… as the 52-goal striker quips he could join them as a third singer in the band

  • Liam and Noel Gallagher have been estranged since Oasis split back in 2009
  • The brothers are famous Man City fans and have taken to Erling Haaland this year
  • Haaland joked he could reunite the band and then join them as a third member

Erling Haaland has joked he could help reunite Oasis after his exploits for Manchester City this season.

The rock band remain one of the most iconic music acts of all-time but split in 2009 with Noel and brother Liam Gallagher – the two staple members of the group – remaining estranged ever since.

Both are famous City fans and regularly publicise their affection for the club and attend games.

Haaland – who has scored a remarkable 52 goals in all competitions this season – has attracted the attention of both, as he posed with Noel in his underpants after they beat Arsenal, while Liam added he wanted to get Haaland on stage with him at a concert.

And after firing the club to their fifth title in six seasons, the striker was questioned on his abilities to stretch to peacemaking off the pitch.

Former Norwegian striker Jan Age Fjortoft asked Haaland whether he could be the man to get the band back together and end the feud between the brothers.

‘Yeah, maybe they need a Norwegian guy, a peacemaker to get them together. Yeah, to get them together maybe,’ he told Viaplay.

Oasis songs are often played at the Etihad before and after City games, meaning their players are well-acquainted with the band.

And when Fjortoft also pressed Haaland on whether, after reuniting the Gallagher brothers, he could join them as a third band singer, the striker didn’t rule it out.

He quipped: ‘Oh, that’s a good question. Of course I can be. It doesn’t mean I will be, but of course I can be.’

The Premier League triumph with Pep Guardiola’s side was Haaland’s third league title of his career after winning the Austrian Bundesliga with RB Salzburg on two occasions.

City face two more league games against Brighton on Wednesday and Brentford on Sunday.

Attention will then turn to the FA Cup final against Man United on June 3 and the Champions League final against Inter Milan on June 10 as City aim to become just the second English team to achieve a historic Treble after their arch-rivals completed the feat in 1998-99.
