Annabel Croft was urged to ‘keep going’ on Strictly by her professional partner Johannes Radebe before Saturday’s live show.
Johannes, 36, gave Annabel a last minute pep talk on Instagram before performing the Pasodoble – where the duo received their first ever 10.
Days early, former tennis player Annabel, 57, appeared on This Morning and spoke out about her ‘horrific’ year following the sudden death of her beloved husband Mel Coleman.
Johannes wrote: ‘You dance so beautifully, and each week you bring such strength and joy to this journey.
‘It has been wonderful to see you grow and I am so incredibly proud of you for everything you have achieved. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for being my leading lady and sharing this truly special adventure with me.

Johannes, who shared a series of behind-the-scenes photos from their time in Blackpool, added: ‘Much love. Thank you so much to everyone for taking the time to vote and for supporting us on our Strictly journey. It means so much to know that you are there. x’
Annabel commented: ‘Words are inadequate to describe how special this experience has been with you – I witness a genius on the floor every time we dance together and you are the most incredible teacher – thank you for making me laugh every day and brining joy to my life.’
Annabel spoke about her late husband Mel on This Morning.
Mel died in May, aged 60, a few weeks after he was diagnosed with stage three cancer and said she ‘really wished’ he had been able to meet Johannes.
She told hosts Dermot O’Leary and Rochelle Humes: ‘It has been a horrific year, it was something I’ve never anticipated, this was never meant to be how life was going to be, I thought I had a future with my husband, we’d been together since I was 21, 36 years together and I miss him terribly, there is no question about it.
‘I so want to speak to him about what we are doing, I miss his humour and I really wish that Johannes had met him because I feel like they would have got on so well.’
And Johannes’ kind words of encouragement proved to be exactly what Annabel needed as the crowd gave her a standing ovation for her Pasodoble.

Craig scored eight, Motsi and Shirley both gave a nine while Anton scored the couple their very first ten.
Annabel and Johannes were left speechless and almost collapsed to the floor in shock before sharing a big hug.
