Released in 1990, the classic comedy tells the story of a little boy named Kevin (Macaulay Culkin) who is accidentally left home alone during the holiday season.

And just when things couldn’t get worse for Kevin, he finds himself having to fight off a pair of crooks trying to break into the family home.

An immediate smash, the film went on to score US$476.7million (AU$733,157,559million) at the box office and spawn a franchise.

With Home Alone streaming on Disney+ for the festive season, it’s time to take a look at what the cast of the holiday classic are doing now.

In the mid-1990s, Macaulay notably took a break from the entertainment industry and formed a band, The Pizza Underground. He returned to star in Party Monster in 2003.

These days the former child star operates a ‘comedy brand’ called Bunny Ears, which offers a satirical look at pop culture.

On Tuesday it was announced that Culkin is getting set to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He will be honored at a special ceremony on Friday, December 1 in Los Angeles.

Culkin shares two children with former Disney channel star Brenda Song.
