Who Is Tom Rogers Teacher?
Teachers have been targeted in videos created by phoney social media accounts in the newest TikTok fad sweeping the UK.
As part of a rgrowing new trend called ‘Rate My Teacher,’ students, former students, and others have created TikTok accounts to spread slurs about teachers and rate their performance in a fictitious school.

While some of the films appear amusing, others have made bogus assertions about staff members being paedophiles or homophobic.
“We are aware of this rising internet behavior, which is entirely wrong,” a representative for the Education Authority stated.
“They are continuously monitoring the situation and offer the necessary assistance and advice as needed.”
Concerns over the TikTok trend came as the Department of Education unveiled its new Safer Schools app this week to improve internet safety for children. UTV has contacted TikTok for comment.
“Our community standards make it clear that we do not accept accounts that dishonestly imitate someone, nor do we permit content that involves bullying or harassment, statements targeting an individual, or hateful speech,” a TikTok representative told the BBC.

Councilors warned students this week that participating in another social media trend encouraging minors to vandalize school restrooms and abuse teachers on tape might result in expulsion and perhaps police action.
Schools around the UK are now urging Facebook to delete the messages, some of which have been reported to the police by headteachers.
“We can confirm we got a report of concern from a school in Wallsend over a video circulating on social media and remarks made about it,” a Northumbria Police spokeswoman said.
“Officers are looking into the situation to see whether any criminal offences have occurred.”
At least two students at the school have been suspended because of social media posts that featured images of staff personnel.
Chronicle live reached out to the school, but they declined to comment.
One headmaster in Wales claimed she has spent the last few days trying to have videos taken down, but other accounts with the school’s identities are created as soon as they are taken down.
