Kyle Rittenhouse Shooting Trial Update
Both the prosecution and defense said their closing statements in the trial of Kyle Rittenhouse, a teenager charged with homicide in association with a fatal shooting during protests last summer.
Judge Bruce Schroeder told the court Monday evening that the jury would begin deliberations on Tuesday. On Tuesday morning, the panel of 18 jurors — eight men and ten women — will be reduced to 12 by a random drawing using a raffle tumbler.

Jurors were instructed to return to court at 10 a.m. ET tomorrow.
Prosecutors claimed Rittenhouse played a role in creating the volatile and dangerous situation in Kenosha on August 25, 2020. He had numerous opportunities to flee to safety or use non-lethal means of defense.
Meanwhile, Rittenhouse’s defense team argued that Rittenhouse’s actions were justified, claiming that he was being assaulted by the victims he shot.
The assistant district attorney contended that video evidence shows Rittenhouse provoked the fatal encounter with Rosenbaum and that he should never have been present at protests armed.
