Don Imus, better known as Imus in the Morning, was an American radio personality.

The radio show aired on several stations and digital platforms across the country until March 29, 2018. WNBC, WFAN, and CBS Radio were among the broadcasting companies for which he worked.

Don received four Marconi Awards (1990, 1992, 1197, and 1994). Time magazine named him one of the 25 Most Influential People in America on April 21, 1997. He was also inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame in 1989. In 2002, Talkers magazine named him one of the top 25 radio talk show hosts of all time.

 On 27 December 2019, he died due to lung disease complications. 

Don Imus Children & Family

Don Imus married twice throughout his life and had six children overall.

He married Harriet Showalter around 1969. Despite having two children, Ashley and Elizabeth, they divorced in 1979. Then, he married Diedre Coleman on 17 December 1994. She was an artist, author, and radio personality. On 3 July 1998, she gave birth to their son, Frederick Wyatt.

Imus died in 2019, separating him from his wife. 

Aside from his biological children, Don legally adopted three more, Nadine and Toni, from his first wife’s previous marriage, and Zach was his sixth child, who he adopted in the 2010s.

Besides his wife and kids, his parents were John Donald Imus and Frances E. Imus. He belonged to a wealthy family who ran The Willows, a 35 thousand-acre ranch near Kingman, Arizona. Reportedly, he had Welsh, English, Polish, and Jewish roots. When he was 20, his father passed away.

Similarly, Imus had a younger brother named Frederic Moore Imus. Born on 11 January 1942, he died on 6 August 2011 in his sleep peacefully. He was an American radio talk show host who was a Kent State University graduate and a member of the United States Army’s 101st Airborne Division.

His children and other family members lead a private life away from social media. Hence, there isn’t much detail about them, including their age and partners.

He raised millions for kids with cancer and the siblings of the victims of sudden infant death syndrome.
