Deborah James worked as a deputy headteacher in schools for 15 years, supervising national growth mindset studies. Her life with her young children and husband was flipped upside down when she was diagnosed with stage 4, inoperable colon cancer at the age of 35.
She is getting treatment and lobbying national cancer groups in the United Kingdom for ten procedures and 24 rounds of chemotherapy.

Debra James has a husband. Sebastien Bowel was her spouse. Her partner works at Pomona Capital as a banker. Sebastien remained by Debra’s side through her battle with cancer.
He always offered support and encouragement. They have two daughters, one of whom is named Eloise. In 2016, she was diagnosed with stage 4 intestinal cancer.
Eloise, her 9-year-old daughter, is asked about her feelings about her disease. Her daughter tells host Lisa Snowdon that she is not worried about her mother dying.

She has not died but is on the journey to fight cancer. She had raised £1.5m raised within 24 hours of the tragic cancer treatment. She was diagnosed with this illness in 2016.
