Hughes argued against gun control measures, calling them “racist” and accusing proponents of being “delusional.”
Something needs to shift. Thoughts and prayers, as well as pleas for stricter gun laws, are insufficient. Why don’t you let me defend myself against evil? Don’t you believe I’m capable and trustworthy with a weapon? Do you think the second amendment does not apply to persons who resemble me?” Hughes, who is black, expressed his thoughts.
“Who and you who are asking for increased gun control are also calling for the police to be defunded?” Who is intended to keep us safe? We must prepare to be our own first responders in order to protect ourselves and our loved ones safe.”
