Tai says she wants to be an example to the kids born in a disadvantaged home that even they could make it big in the future. In Australia, after the parents get divorced, the kids are put in a system, and Tai had to go through the same process.
Tai shifted from one home to another by the age of 15, she was living with the Conolly family, and her sister had been sent to the US.
The MMA fighter was kept in Australia as she was excelling in her studies and was getting straight A’s. Later in her life, after graduating, she chose to do modeling and continued her studies to become an electrician.

Tai Emery is of mixed origin, with her father being a native Maori and her mother an Australian. She was born and raised in Queensland, Australia.
The Australian went on to live in the US for six years, going back and forth between Atlanta and Los Vegas.
While working as an electrician in Australia, Tai was informed by one of her friends that there was an audition for the LFL, and Tai thought of giving it a go.
