Some believe that Sonia was the illegitimate daughter of King Edward VII. The couple tied the knot on November 16, 1920, and became parents of three kids-Rosalind Maud Cubitt, Henry Edward Cubitt, and Jeremy John Cubitt.

Major Bruce Shand, Rosalind Shand’s husband, was a dedicated British Army Officer. During his time in the army, served as a second lieutenant in the 12th Royal Lancers and earned two military crosses.

During World War II, he fought in North Africa and France and was engaged in battle in El Alamein, Egypt, against the German forces. He remained a prisoner till the end of the war in 1945.

After the war ended, he tied the knot with Rosalind, and the pair’s marriage lasted for 48 years.
