DJ Uiagalelei’s parents, Dave Uiagalelei and Tausha Uiagalelei, are from the Samoan Islands. They are his biggest and most genuine supporters.

His father “Big Dave” Uiagalelei, believes strongly in the power of promotion on social media. Well, his dad is referred to as his biggest hype man. A jovial and fun-loving football father became well-known in the SoCal High School ranks as his eldest son was starring at St. John Bosco High School in California.

According to Distractify, D.J’s father previously served as a bodyguard, working for A-list celebs and pop stars like Rihanna, DJ Khaled, Nick Cannon, and Meek Mill. But, to spend more time with his family, and also because of Dave’s son’s complaints that he gives less time to his family, he quit the high-paying job.

D.J.’s CA-based father’s Twitter bio states that he created his kids’ brand by using the Big Dave’s Blueprint formula.

Even though Big Dave earned much money as a celebrity bodyguard, his fatherly love won over his desire to bank up more cash.

When D.J. was 9, he asked his dad why he was away so much, so Big Dave bid a farewell to his previous job and became a resource officer at a school. Despite making less money after he quit being a celeb bodyguard, he made sure that his son went camping and received all the training he needed to become an emerging football star.

D.J.’s internet-famous dad, Dave, hopes his son finds the success he didn’t and achieves milestones that he did not achieve. Dave never trained like D.J. trained and didn’t even finish high school.

He wants his sons D.J and Matayo to take advantage of all opportunities and doesn’t want them to follow in his footsteps and be deprived of what they love doing.

D.J.’s parents split in June 2019, and it was actually his mom Tausha, who filed for divorce, perhaps for some irreconcilable differences.

DJ Uiagalelei’s mother, Tausha Raquel, became a surrogate mother six times in order to make money for their family. He considers himself more like his mom Tausha Raquel in terms of personality.

His dad likes the spotlight and can be over the top, but he prefers to be low-key, more like his mother.

Despite her time as a surrogate mother, she managed to be there for D.J. and take him to practice while his dad was at work. Her job as a surrogacy allowed her to stay home and raise her boys while caring for her sick mother.

Tausha believes that she would be unable to balance her work and personal life if she worked a full-time job. If she was working full-time, there was no way she could’ve done all she did and gotten her two children to the practices, wherever they needed to go.

In one of her interviews, Tausha opened up that she often closed her eyes and pictured a different world while raising her two boys. She imagined a world where she didn’t have to carry someone else’s baby to help make ends meet.

Tausha wondered if there was a world in which she didn’t have to deal with the struggle of taking care of her disabled mother, who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. D.J’s maternal grandmother lived with the family for 14 years before succumbing to the disease.

D.J’s mother’s side of the family was also gifted athletically as his grandfather played semi-pro baseball and ran track, and his uncle also played football. Likewise, Tausha’s uncle Rolland Lawrence played for the Atlanta Falcons for almost a decade (from 1973 to 1980).

Unlike her ex-partner Dave who does not shy away from attention, she maintains a low profile.

DJ Uiagalelei’s girlfriend Ava Pritchard is a Clemson Volleyball Alum and has a marketing degree.

Ava played volleyball for ten years before quitting the sport after graduation in 2021. She was Team Tigers all through high school and wore jersey number 20. Pritchard was Clemson Tigers 2021 Team Captain.

In 2020, she was an ACC Academic Honor Roll recipient. While she was a student at Dripping Springs High School, she was a member of the Young Women’s Club and Health Occupation Students of America.

Pritchard was born to parents Mike Mikos and Stacy Pritchard on May 2, 2000. She celebrated her 22nd birthday on May 2 and hails from Austin, Texas.

Uiagalelei’s girlfriend graduated from Clemson with her undergraduate degree in Marketing on May 7, 2021

In one of Uiagalelei’s IG posts with Ava, he wrote that every day is a celebration with his sweetheart Ava and he couldn’t imagine a better person to be with.

DJ Uiagalelei holds American nationality as his hometown is recorded as Inland Empire, California. About his ethnicity, the Clemson footballer is of Samoan descent.

DJ Uiagalelei’s parents are first-generation Americans, and their family is originally from the Samoan Islands. As his parents’ eldest son, he quickly analyzed his poor family condition during his younger days.

Thus, he also showed traits of a businessman in his teenage years by selling chips in his school after buying them in bulk.
