His film, made for just $6 million, demonstrates that smaller projects can achieve significant success, grossing $40 million globally after winning the Palme d’Or at Cannes. However, Baker cautions that such accolades don’t translate to financial stability.
He points to the decline of DVD sales, which once provided crucial support for emerging filmmakers, leaving artists like him to struggle even when their films perform well at the box office.

“I personally do not have children, but I know for a fact that if I did, I would not be able to make the movies that I make,”
