- Lakers’ LeBron James Set to Miss One to Two Weeks with Groin Injury. James sustained a groin injury during the Lakers-Celtics game.
- The Lakers are currently the No 3 seed in the Western Conference.
- James is averaging 25.1 points this season.
LeBron James left the game with a strained groin during the Los Angeles Lakers’ 111-101 defeat to the Boston Celtics on Saturday. The 40-year-old superstar may be out for “weeks,” as reported by ESPN.
James recorded 22 points, 14 rebounds, and nine assists before departing midway through the fourth quarter, marking the end of the Lakers’ eight-game winning streak in Los Angeles.

In his 22nd season, James had been performing exceptionally well, averaging 25.1 points, 8.5 assists, and 8.1 rebounds per game prior to Saturday’s game. Just last week, he made history as the first NBA player to reach 50,000 career points, including postseason totals.
While Lebron James was in the locker room, the Lakers managed to reduce a 20-point deficit in the fourth quarter to single digits. However, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown scored the final 12 points for Boston, securing the victory.

Luka Doncic contributed 34 points and eight rebounds in his first game in Boston since the Dallas Mavericks lost Game 5 of the NBA Finals, allowing Boston to clinch its 18th championship.
The Lakers (40-22) currently hold the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference standings. They are set to face Brooklyn on Monday, likely without James for that game and possibly for some time to come.
