Kim Kardashian recently shared some insights about her past relationships and the engagement rings that came with them, revealing an unexpected tidbit about her marriage to NBA star Kris Humphries.
In a heartfelt chat with her sister Khloe Kardashian and well-known jeweler Lorraine Schwartz on ‘The Kardashians,’ Kim took a trip down memory lane, discussing her cherished jewelry pieces and the emotions attached to them.
She talked about her first engagement ring, a 14-carat cushion-cut diamond from her marriage to Damon Thomas, which lasted from 2000 to 2004. “I still have it,” she said, noting how much sentimental value it holds for her. The conversation shifted to her second engagement ring, an 18-carat emerald-cut diamond from Kris Humphries, whom she married in 2011. However, Kim revealed that she doesn’t have that ring anymore.
“I didn’t keep it,”
she recalled.
“When I was pregnant with North and still legally married to him, Kris made me give the ring back before we could finalize our divorce.”
Khloe jumped in to remind Kim that she actually paid for most of that ring herself.
“But I bought it!”
Kim stressed, clarifying that Kris had only covered a small portion of the total price.
Lorraine Schwartz, the ring’s designer, mentioned that sometimes it’s best to let go of engagement rings linked to unhappy times. While Kim agreed, she admitted that having a jewelry collection reflecting her past relationships could have been interesting.
Kim’s third engagement ring came from Kanye West, who popped the question in 2013 with a breathtaking 15-carat cushion-cut diamond. She still has that ring and plans to pass it on to her oldest daughter, North West.
Kanye later surprised Kim with an even bigger 20-carat emerald-cut ring during their marriage, but sadly, that stunning piece was stolen during her distressing Paris robbery in 2016.
