Dillard Bassett, who exited RHOP after season 8, mentioned having connected with her former co-star “a few times before her going away.”

“I’m obviously heartbroken for her and her family,”

she reflected.

“We all know that drinking and driving isn’t okay,”

Dillard Bassett continued.

“We all have choices to make, and it’s on us to choose wisely, whether that means calling an Uber, crashing on a friend’s couch, or simply walking.”

She went on to say,

“Karen will definitely have time to reflect on her actions, but I’m looking forward to her serving her time and coming out even stronger, which I know she will.”

Huger has been sentenced to two years for her DUI arrest in March 2024, with one year suspended, meaning she’ll spend a year in jail and then five years on probation. She also has 30 days to appeal the verdict and 90 days to request a reconsideration from the judge.

Dillard Bassett was at the awards ceremony celebrating the Black LGBTQ+ community and its allies, joined by fellow Bravo star Cynthia Bailey, along with celebrities like Tamar Braxton, Colman Domingo, and Lee Daniels, among others.

In addition, Dillard Bassett spoke with PEOPLE about motherhood. The “Drive Back” singer welcomed her first child, son Jett Maxwell Lee, with her husband Chris Bassett in October 2024.

“Having a son definitely changes the way you handle conflict,”

she noted.

“You constantly think about the impact of your actions because if something happens to me, I’m leaving my child without a parent. It’s something you really consider.”

Meanwhile, season 10 of Real Housewives of Potomac is reportedly in production without Huger.
