On March 12, 2020, the estranged couple was discovered dead in a vehicle in Nashville, Tennessee.
The couple was kidnapped and shot before their remains were dumped in a vehicle near a construction site, according to court filings.
Their remains were discovered by a construction worker, according to a press release from the city of Nashville.
Since then, federal officials have been investigating the case.
It led to the identification of Erik Charles Maund and three other males, two of whom are from Austin, as the perpetrators of the murder.
