Wendy Williams Health Update- Her Illness Explored
According to Wendy Williams’ representative, the star has been dealing with “challenging health issues” that have caused her to step away from The Wendy Williams Show. Williams previously disclosed her Graves’ disease diagnosis, and she has taken extended breaks from her show in 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the actress also has lymphedema, which is swelling caused by a buildup of lymph fluid in the body (CDC).
While season 13 of The Wendy Williams Show was scheduled to premiere in the fall of 2021, Williams decided in September to cancel all public appearances promoting her show. One month later, she revealed that she had been diagnosed with COVID-19 and that the new season would be postponed due to “ongoing medical issues.”
Williams provided an update on her health in a video posted to her new personal Instagram account. While on a beach walk with her son Kevin Hunter Jr., Williams stated that she was “doing fine” as she spends time with family in Florida.
