Ashling Murphy’s murderer is yet to be arrested. However, a man was suspected on Jan 14, 2022, who now has been eliminated as the suspect.
A team of more than 50 officials had been assigned for the investigation. According to a witness, the suspect was riding a mountain bike.
The attacker also carried straight handlebars and distinctive yellow/green front forks.
Meanwhile, Ashling was found with serious injuries. She was given medical attention, however, could not be saved.

Ashling Murphy and her parents are part of a well-known family of musicians. They are natives of the Tullamore area of County Offaly.
The young lady herself worked at the Durrow National School. She and her family are members of the National Folk Orchestra of Ireland.
Her parents are totally shocked by Ashling’s death. They have described her as a “Special Girl” who filled their house with love and music.
She was born the youngest to her father, Raymond Murphy, and, mother Kathleen Murphy.

“She was just a unique young lady.” Raymond, her father, stated with tears in his eyes, “She’s the youngest, a tiny angel.”
“She was a brilliant girl in every way.” and “She was a hard worker with a lot of drive.” He continues, “A wonderful musician.”
Raymond Murphy has previously performed with the Furey Brothers. Later, he was a member of the band Best Foot Forward.
