This resolution comes after a lengthy legal struggle that started in 2019 when Cardi B took Tasha K to court for defamation, invasion of privacy, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Tasha K had made numerous false and damaging statements about Cardi B, including unfounded claims of drug use and infidelity, which were disproven in court.
In 2022, Cardi B was awarded a $4 million defamation judgment against Tasha K. However, following Tasha K’s bankruptcy filing in 2023, she couldn’t collect the full amount right away.
The new settlement, which has been approved under a Chapter 11 reorganization plan, guarantees that Cardi B will receive structured payments from Tasha K, starting with monthly installments of $176,532 in the first year and rising to $318,653 by the fifth year.
According to count filings, Cardi B and wannabe journalist Tasha K have come to a repayment agreement. Tasha K will pay $1.2 MILLION over the next five years.

In addition to the financial aspects, the settlement includes a non-disparagement clause, which requires Tasha K to avoid making any negative, disparaging, or defamatory comments about Cardi B or her family on any platform. This clause is designed to safeguard Cardi B’s reputation and stop the spread of harmful content.
Cardi B also retains the right to seek the remaining balance of the $4 million judgment after the five-year payment plan concludes. If Tasha K fails to make her payments, Cardi B could potentially garnish her wages or take further legal action.
