Murphy and Simon got married in 2007. He started living together with Murphy and her mom.

Simon soon began isolating Murphy from her friends and shooting. He disconnected her phone lines, cut all excess to her, and took on the role of her agent, manager, and even makeup artist himself. In

Murphy was born to Father Angelo Bertolotti and Mother Sharon Murphy on November 10, 1977.

Angelo Bertolotti was of Italian descent, and her mother was half-Irish and half-Slovakian. Her parents got separated when she was just two years old.

Before being married to Simon Monjack In May 2007, Murphy was engaged to Joe Macaluso in 2005. However, the engagement ended in 2006.

Murphy also dated Actor Ashton Kutcher and talent manager Jeff Kwatinetz.
