Did Jayda Grant Commit Suicide? According to Twitter Tribute, Anthony Grant’s daughter Jayda Grant has died.

Anthony Grant is the United States’ head men’s basketball coach at the University of Dayton. He was the head coach at Virginia Commonwealth University from 2006 to 2009, and then at the University of Alabama from 2009 to 2015.

Jayda Grant, his daughter, died, causing the citizens to be concerned about her demise. Tributes are pouring in on social media platforms, particularly Twitter.

According to her obituary, Jayda Grant was a 2019 graduate of Chaminade Julienne High School and had entered UD to pursue a degree in psychology. In a joint statement, UD President Eric Spina and Vice President/Director of Athletics Neil Sullivan said:

“On behalf of the whole University of Dayton community, we mourn the loss of Jayda Grant with great sadness. Anthony, Chris, and their entire family have our heartfelt condolences. They have our affection and support without reservation.

We pray for their comfort and tranquility, and we respect their right to privacy during this difficult time.” Her funeral preparations have not been made public, however, her obituary states that it will be a private service.

Jayda Danielle Grant was born in Gainesville, Florida on August 22, 2001. Anthony and Christina Grant had five children, and she was the fourth. Jayda excelled in school and developed into a talented writer.

She was an outspoken supporter of marginalized groups, such as the LGBTQ+ community. A spokeswoman with the Greene County Coroner’s Office told News Center 7 that the reason and manner of Jayda’s death were unknown.

The office had a file, but her death was still being investigated, according to the spokeswoman. The family requests donations to the local National Alliance on Mental Illness in lieu of flowers.

Jayda Grant was a track star in high school, winning the 4×400, 200M, and 400M relays. In 2020 and 2021, she was a member of the women’s track and field team at UD, however, the most recent seasons were canceled due to COVID-19.

Anthony and Christina Grant, as well as her brothers A.J., Preston, and Makai Grant, survive her. The provision of services is still pending. Donations to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, www.nami.org, are suggested as a memorial.
