He changed his diet during the show’s seventh season and put on about 50 pounds.

Rob explains his weight increase in an interview with The Wrap, claiming that he would devour approximately 5,000 calories daily. “When I first started doing it, I was using chicken breast, rice, and vegetables,” he explains.

The scale read 212 pounds, and Rob decided he had gained enough weight. The actor acknowledged that his exercise regimen and diet needed to be altered to start losing the extra weight he had gained.

“Being lost is simple. Simply cut back on how much you f—king eat. Additionally, I go to the gym three times per week.

Regardless of your metabolism, you will lose weight if you stop consuming as many calories, “He told the publication.”

Rob had no trouble trying to lose the extra body fat that others found difficult. “I had good fortune.

Thank goodness for my metabolism.” His conclusion after gaining weight? The most enjoyable part, he said, “was getting rid of any shred of vanity,”

People Reaction To His Transformation

To give his character more humor and give the season’s comedy a new direction, McElhenney gained 60 lb (27 kg) of fat and let his beard grow out in preparation for It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’s seventh season.

The weight gain was deemed “disgusting” by his co-star Charlie Day, who claimed that the rest of the cast was “a little on the fence about it for his health and safety.”

Following the season’s filming completion, McElhenney lost 23 lb (10 kg) in a month and the remaining weight later that year in preparation for the following season’s filming.

On April 14, 1977, Robert McElhenney III was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. McElhenney’s parents were both of Irish ancestry. He was brought up as a Catholic.

Although their parents remained close after the divorce, their father raised him and his two younger brothers in the majority.
