The artist who is currently facing a life sentence for murder explained why he has accepted the Christian faith by sending a letter to Mutabaruka.

He shared “I have finally found what was missing from my life and since God has just spoken to me, I have decided to give my life to Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.

I’ve made the decision to oppose all types of violence. I won’t use violence in my words, music, writing, thoughts, or deeds. I’d rather strive to imitate Christ. A new Vybz Kartel will be seen in Jamaica and around the world if I manage to escape this hellhole through the success of my appeal.”

In his letter, the musical artist also stated that he will not make several youths believe that it is good to be bad and that he will no longer promote music including gun culture.

Additionally, Kartel’s religious beliefs are also reflected in some of his music, and he released his extended play named True Religion in 2022.

However, it’s worth noting that Vybz Kartel has also been known for controversial and explicit content in his music, which may not necessarily align with the moral and spiritual guidelines of Christianity.
