Gracie, a 16-year-old sophomore at Meade County High School, was killed in an automobile accident on May 13, 2022. She was a resident of Flaherty, Kentucky.
This accident happened on the Brandenburg Bypass Road in Meade County, Kentucky. Gracie was tragically killed, but her boyfriend and another friend survived. The accident’s cause is still unknown.
Prater was a passenger in a car struck by a different vehicle at Old Ekron Road as it made a left turn onto Bypass Road.
The crash occurred when the 17-year-old driver lost control and crossed the centerline into the northbound lanes. A Chevy pickup truck then collided with it.
Prater passed away. Prater’s 17-year-old passenger was driven to the University of Louisville Hospital by a chopper with significant wounds.

Her relatives and friends describe her as a friendly, kind individual. Gracie is kind and constantly goes above and beyond to help others.
She was a beloved daughter, granddaughter, niece, and cousin to everyone who knew her. Sadly, she will be missed.
Gracie participated in the FFA and the Choir in her neighborhood high school. She provided devoted and conscientious service to the Hardin County Skateland and the Meade County Farmer’s Market.
She was proud of her business, Soy Wonders. Gracie’s infectious smile and zest for life influenced everyone she encountered.

The late Gracie’s boyfriend, Gavin, claimed to have gotten notice on his phone from a location-tracking program they used.
He said that the app had alerted him to an issue. Gavin said, “Gracir’s phone sent me an SMS, then it abruptly stopped.”
They confirmed a crash when he contacted friends at the neighboring eateries.
“I inquired whether there was an accident there, and they said yes,” Gavin said. According to the Kentucky State Police, a collision happened near the 300 block of Bypass Road at 3:50 pm.
