Jade Thirlwall, a former member of Little Mix, has disclosed that Harry Styles neglected to communicate with her following a date, coinciding with his rise to prominence as a member of One Direction. This revelation was made during an episode of “The Louis Theroux Podcast” on Spotify.
Reflecting on their youthful encounter, Thirlwall stated, “We were around 16 at the time.” She recounted that Styles did not respond to her messages after their date, which took place while he was competing on “The X Factor.” This was shortly after Styles, along with Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik, and Louis Tomlinson, had formed One Direction during the 2010 season of the British music competition.
“The moment they began their live performances, he stopped messaging me,” Thirlwall recalled. “I thought, ‘That’s it for him. He has made it big.'”
Unbeknownst to Thirlwall, this incident would be a minor occurrence in what would evolve into a remarkable career for both artists. Following Styles’ trajectory, Thirlwall achieved fame alongside her bandmates Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards, and Jesy Nelson in Little Mix, which was formed in a subsequent season of “The X Factor.”
Years later, Styles reached out to Thirlwall to express his regret for his previous lack of communication. “I encountered him, and he said, ‘I’m really sorry that I ignored you,'” she shared. Podcast host Louis Theroux aptly remarked, “He ghosted you.”
Reflecting on the experience, Thirlwall noted, “I was so young. It didn’t really matter.” Now at the age of 32, she looks back on the situation without resentment, describing Styles as “very talented” and “very charming.” At 30, Styles has indeed established himself as a prominent figure in the pop music landscape.
In terms of their personal lives, both artists have been involved in high-profile relationships. Styles has been linked to notable figures such as Taylor Swift, Kendall Jenner, and Olivia Wilde, while Thirlwall is currently in a relationship with Jordan Stephens.
