The wrestling community is in deep sorrow following the unexpected death of Hulk Hogan, a legendary figure in sports entertainment. The WWE Hall of Famer, born Terry Bollea, passed away at the age of 71 after a reported cardiac arrest at his home in Clearwater, Florida, on July 24, 2025.
Emergency responders raced to his home after a distress call was made at 9:51 AM. He was taken away on a stretcher and rushed to Morton Plant Hospital. Unfortunately, despite attempts to save him, Hogan was pronounced dead soon after his arrival.
Hulk Hogan’s Health Issues Before His Passing
In the weeks prior to his death, Hogan had faced several health challenges, including a neck surgery in May and a significant heart operation in June. His wife, Sky Daily, had previously dismissed speculation about his health, insisting that his heart was “strong.”
However, given his long history of injuries, from back surgeries to knee replacements and shoulder operations, it’s likely these issues contributed to his decline.
WWE and Fellow Wrestlers Pay Their Respects
WWE issued an official statement confirming Hogan’s passing:
“WWE is saddened to learn WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has passed away. One of pop culture’s most recognizable figures, Hogan helped WWE achieve global recognition in the 1980s. WWE extends its condolences to Hogan’s family, friends, and fans.”

made him a household name.
Despite facing controversies throughout his life, including a scandal involving racist remarks in 2015 and various financial struggles, his influence on both pop culture and professional wrestling remains unparalleled.
