At 16, he got the chance to play at Manchester City as a trainee; he joined in 1987. In 1990, he was signed by Crewe Alexandra on a free transfer, and he debuted at Crewe Alexandra against Reading in August 1990. Because of his back injury, he missed the whole season of 1991-1992.

From Crewe Alexandra, he made 187 appearances and scored 18 goals for the club in 5.5 years.

In 1996, he joined Leicester City for a fee of £750,000. He debuted for Leicester City against Crystal Palace at Wembley. In 1997, he won his first major winning medal against Middlesbrough. During his time, he got a chance to play in two other league cup finals; in 1999, losing against Tottenham Hotspur 1-0, and in 2000, winning 2-1 against Tranmere Rovers.

In 2000, Celtic signed with Lennon for £5.75 million. He wins three winning medals. He helped the Celtic win two league championships and two Scottish Cups in four seasons. He played in the UEFA Cup Final in 2003, losing 3-2 with Porto after extra time.

He was made a caption of Celtic in 2005. In 2006, he extended his sign for a one-year. In 2007, he announced he was leaving Celtic after playing his last game on 26 May 2007. His captaincy won the Scottish Cup Final against Dunfermline Athletic.

On 31 January 2008, Lennon joined Wycombe Wanderers on a free transfer but left on 3 April to take a coaching role at Celtic.

International Football Career

On 11 June 1994, Lennon played his first international game in a friendly match against Mexico. He waited almost one year to appear in the international and played against chile in another friendly. Three months later, he played with Portugal in a European Championship as his first competitive appearance.

In 2002, he retired from his international career after receiving a life-threatening. He played 40 games for his country and contributed two goals in his period.

Neil’s Managerial Career

Neil Lennon started his managerial career in 2008 at Celtic. Lennon took charge of the Celtic team after Tonu Mowbray’s appointment.

In 2010, he was appointed Interim Manager for the 2009-10 season. Under Lennon, Celtic won all league games and reached the semi-final. On June 2010, he was appointed as a full-time manager. He signed many talented, cheap, young players from a minor league. Gary Hooper, Beram Kayal, and Emilio Izaguirre are also signed on.

In 2011, he led Celtic to the League Cup Final and lost against Rangers. In 2013-14, Celtic qualified for the UEFA Champions League group stage.

After leaving Celtic, he joined Bolton Wanderers on 12th October 2014 for four years contract. He won the first game as in charge of Bolton. In 3 months of charge, he raised the team from the bottom of the league to 14.

Lennon Joined Hibernian as a head coach in June 2016. Under his leadership, Hibernial won the Scottish Championship title in his first season. He extends his contract for the 2019-20 season.

Lennon got suspended by Hibernial for exchanging another club’s employee. In January, he left the club by mutual consent along with Garry Parker.

In February 2019, Lennon returned to Celtic as a manager. He served for the Celtic until February 2021.

Currently, he is serving as the head coach of Omonia. He joined on 8 March 2022. Under his leadership, Omonia won the Cypriot Cup against Ethnikos Achna on 25 May.
