Rapper Big Scarr (Alexander Woods), from Memphis, died on Thursday as a result of a heroin overdose. Gucci Mane announced his passing on Instagram.

On Thursday, about 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time, word of the Memphis rapper’s demise emerged on social media (December 22).

Big Scarr made his professional debut in July 2020 with “SoIcyBoyz” on The New 1017 compilation album Gucci Mane Presents, “So Icy Summer,” alongside labelmates Pooh Shiesty and Fogiano.

Scarr was one of only three musicians to make an appearance on a track by themselves throughout the entire compilation.

He announced his first national tour earlier this month, opening for Key Glock on his Glockoma Tour, which will begin on March 5.

Big Scarr and Pooh Shiesty are related as they are siblings.

Artists like Kodak Black and Boosie Badazz influenced Alexander’s music. Baby K, a friend from day one, encouraged Alexander to start rapping. His debut single, “Make A Play,” was driven by a ferocious freestyle.

The intense music video garnered over 1.3 million YouTube views thanks to its fierce flows, strong rhymes, and catchy hooks. Pooh Shiesty, a member of the 1017 collective and Big Scarr’s cousin, collaborated on the song with none other than Gucci Mane. The icon signed Big Scarr after being stunned.

Shiesty is a recording artist signed to Gucci Mane’s 1017 Records and Atlantic Records, and in 2020, his collaborations with the rapper and other artists helped him become well-known.

Big Scarr was born to his parents in Memphis, Tennessee. The names of his parents have not been revealed yet.

His Father raised him in South Memphis. His sibling count is eight. Pooh Shiesty, his cousin, is also a rapper. Woods referred to his Father as his best friend in an interview with Our Generation Music.

When he was 13 years old, his grandmother, with whom he had initially lived, passed away. Woods was thrown through his friend’s car’s windshield in a car accident when he was 16 years old. He claims that his misfortune is where his stage name came from.

After hearing the music of rapper Kodak Black, Big Scarr was inspired to pursue a career in music. He started listening to his music and imagined himself as a successful rapper.

Scarr made his musical debut in December 2019 with the song “Make A Play.” The song was a hit for him, garnering over 5.5 million views on YouTube.

On April 18, 2020, Big Scarr created another song, Lit Hoe. Over 1.8 million people have watched the song’s official music video on YouTube. He wrote “SolcyBoyz,” a piece, in collaboration with Pooh Shiesty and Fogiano in June 2020. Audiences responded to the song overwhelmingly
