The Shooting Incident: Dylan Jenkins Death Cause

According to reports, Dylan Jenkins was with a group of about 40-50 people at Ackerman Park around 11 p.m. when several shots were fired from the backseat of a vehicle in the parking lot. The teenager suffered a gunshot wound to his back and died shortly after.

Arrest and Conviction of the Shooter

Nyquan Priester, 20, was arrested by U.S. Marshals and charged with second-degree murder for Jenkins’ death. Priester had brought a gun to the party and told his friends he was going to “air this [expletive] out” before firing six shots from the rear passenger seat, striking Jenkins in the back.

In February 2022, a jury found Priester guilty of the lesser charge of manslaughter and discharging a firearm from a vehicle within 1,000 feet of a person. He was sentenced to 45 years in prison for the shooting.
