Speed Kills, a 2018 American Puerto Rican criminal drama film directed by Jodi Scurfield and starring John Travolta as Ben, is based on the story of Aronow.

Donald Aronow, now well-known as the character Ben Aronoff was born on March 1, 1927, in Brooklyn, New York, the US as the youngest son of Herman and Ruth Aronow. He has two older sisters named Sylvia and Lillian.

Aronow is an American designer, builder, and racer of Speedboats, Magnum Marine Cary, Cigarette, Donzi, and Formula.

He graduated from James Madison High School in 1944,  worked as a lifeguard on Coney Island, and entered Brooklyn College. In 1945 he joined the merchant ship and worked abroad until the end of World War II.

He returned to the United States in 1947, and in 1948 he graduated from Brooklyn College with a degree in physical education. There he won letters in soccer, wrestling and athletics.

Also, he has built speedboats for famous personalities like the Shah of Iran, Charles Keating, Robert Vesco, Malcolm Forbes, and George H. W. Bush. His boat even won a whopping 350 offshore regatta, and Arono himself was two world champions and three US champions offshore regatta.

Aronow’s parents were Russian Jewish immigrants, and his father was the owner of a gas station and later a taxi company.

He even worked as a gym teacher for a while before getting a job in the construction industry for his father-in-law in southern New Jersey. In 1953 he founded his own construction company, Aronow Corporation, which soon became one of the largest construction companies in the state.

In 1959, at 32, the current billionaire Aronou moved to Miami with his family, where he began racing boats as a hobby. He got married twice, first to Shirley Goldin and later to Wilhelmina’s model, Lillian Crawford. He seems to have lived a very luxurious life
