TMZ recently interviewed Jay Leno about his experience working with Gabrielle Union on “America’s Got Talent.”
Union was described as a “great girl” and he expressed doubt about her treatment on the show.
However, when asked about a joke he reportedly made that offended some on set, Leno declined to comment, suggesting that discussing it on a busy street was inappropriate.
Gabrielle Union and Julianne Hough have been accused of racist jokes and physical appearance criticism on the “America’s Got Talent” set.
The show did not invite Union and Hough back for a second season.
In a Variety report regarding the controversy surrounding “America’s Got Talent,” Jay Leno was quoted regarding a joke he allegedly made during a taping that offended some staff members, including an Asian team member.
According to the report, Union urged producers to report the incident to human resources.
In a tweet, Gabrielle Union expressed her gratitude to her supporters in response to the controversy surrounding her exit from “America’s Got Talent”.
In a joint statement, NBC, Fremantle, and Syco indicated that they are working with Union’s representatives to address her concerns.
During her time on the show, Sharon Osbourne revealed that she had her own problems with the network.
Except for the network, Osbourne said her experience was positive, with the crew and everyone else being “amazing.”
Workplace health and safety issues are taken seriously by SAG-AFTRA, which is investigating the situation.
