Clarence Thomas, 73, has been in Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C. since Friday, the court said, after experiencing flu-like symptoms. The court did not explain why it took two days to announce the justice’s hospitalization.
It also gave no further specifics regarding the infection, only that Thomas is receiving medication and that his symptoms are subsiding.

Thomas has no history of health problems and has been an active participant in Court arguments for the previous two years. According to the Court, he and the other eight justices have been vaccinated and boosted for COVID-19.
