The legal dispute between Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively has heated up, with Baldoni’s team pushing back against Lively’s publicist, Leslie Sloane, trying to get herself removed from the ongoing lawsuit.
Baldoni, the director and star of It Ends With Us, is challenging Sloane’s request to step aside from the case, which was originally filed in February 2023.
Baldoni’s legal team argues that Sloane and her agency, Vision PR, were part of a plan to undermine the Wayfarer Parties. They allege that Sloane worked alongside Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and The New York Times to cast Baldoni and his crew as scapegoats in the aftermath of the situation involving Lively.

Additionally, Baldoni’s lawyers claim that Sloane spent months spreading false and damaging information to the press, which has severely harmed Baldoni and his production company, Wayfarer Studios. The court documents state that Sloane allegedly leaked “breadcrumbs and hints of sinister allegations,” while secretly sharing defamatory lies with journalists.
In response, Sloane’s lawyer, Sigrid McCawley, argues that Sloane has been pulled into this lawsuit as a distraction from the serious allegations of sexual harassment and systematic retaliation made against Lively.

McCawley asserts that the claims against Sloane are baseless and aim to divert focus from the case’s essential issues, highlighting their goal to clear Sloane’s name and redirect attention to the serious accusations being addressed in court.
Lively had previously accused Baldoni of sexual harassment and conducting a smear campaign to damage her reputation, a claim that Baldoni has denied. The trial is scheduled for March 2026.
