Sitake was born Kelaokalani Fifita Sitake on October 10, 1975, to parents Eseta Vaetolufatu and Tomasi Vaetolufatu. He was born and raised for a few years in Nukuʻalofa, Tonga.

Later, when Sitake was still a child, his family emigrated to the United States and started their lives in Laie, Hawaii.

Sitake went to high school in Kirkwood, Missouri. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Brigham Young University.

The athlete served as a volunteer Representative for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LSD Church).

The football head coach started his career as Defensive Backs & Special Teams Coach in Eastern Arizona College while also playing as a footballer for Cincinnati Bengals.
