Lewis Clark Arrested: Is He In Jail? Poole Driver Charged For The Death Of Courtney White

Lewis Clark Arrested: Is He In Jail? For his irresponsible driving that resulted in Courtney White’s death, a man has received a sentence.

The sentence has been handed down to a young man who murdered a mother in Poole while driving recklessly and then lied to police.

On Sunday, December 12, 2021, Lewis Clark, 20, of Hudson Close in Poole, entered a guilty plea.

After 23-year-old pedestrian Courtney White was killed in a collision on the A3049 Canford Way in Poole, his excessively risky driving resulted in death.

Miss White, a mother of a three-year-old girl, was walking home while listening to music on the footpath between the Mannings Heath and the Alderney roundabouts when Clark struck her after failing to pass a friend’s motorcycle at a high rate of speed.

Lewis Clark was sentenced to 16 years in prison in 2014 after committing armed robbery with his Father. Lewis was one of three boys from Battersea, South East London.

In an interview with documentary filmmaker James English, he spoke candidly about his criminal past.

He committed multiple robberies, dealt drugs, and was a South London gang G-Street member from 2005 to 2010.

Clark, who was 19 then, did not have a driving license and had not driven for at least a year before the crash, according to a hearing at Bournemouth Crown Court on Friday, January 13.

Clark’s actions were motivated by his “desire to show off,” according to Judge Robert Pawson.

Stuart Ellacott, the prosecutor, told the court that Clark, who had no previous convictions, met with a group of friends on the night of the crash and “swapped” his motorcycle for his friend’s Ford Fiesta.

The group then exited a gas station on the A3049, and Clark began driving at high speeds to keep up with two friends riding motorcycles alongside him.

The driver then lost control and swerved across the road towards the pavement before striking the kerb” before hitting Miss White from behind, according to the court. He also collided with a lamppost before spinning back out onto the road.

According to the court, Clark and three passengers abandoned the car and fled the scene without checking on Miss White.

“They ought to hang their heads in shame,” Judge Pawson said.

Miss was pronounced dead at the scene, despite the efforts of first responders. She suffered fatal head and neck injuries, the court heard.

When Police tracked down the vehicle’s owner, Clark and his friend told them how the car had been stolen at knifepoint just before the crash.

Despite maintaining the lie for some time, Clark surrendered to Police and admitted to driving.

Tim Bradbury, mitigating, said his client “acted shamefully” but “could not live with what he had done.”
