In 2020, Martin Laird endured a nightmare six-month injury.

Three-time Tour winner Martin had returned home and moved his young family into a new home in Denver.

A week before the Charles Schwab Championship in Texas, the three-time Championship winner was in pain.

Their first competition since their quarantine was scheduled for June 11.

In the end, Martin was taken to a local Denver hospital for emergency treatment after he collapsed from pain and was unable to walk.

After being in lockdown for a few months, he was ready to return to the tour, but a week before traveling to Fort Worth, he tore his left meniscus ligament.

Moreover, Laird’s left knee had been bothering him since February 2020.

Then he played Tiger’s event in L.A., the Phoenix Open, the Farmers Insurance, and Puerto Rico.

As a result of his injury, he couldn’t walk and had to undergo immediate surgery on his knee, which led to him being laid off for six months.

In Illinois, Martin returned to the competition after a six-month break.

Mr. Laird was born on 29 December 1982 in Glasgow, Scotland. Laird played junior golf at Kirkintilloch Golf Club before moving to Hilton Park Golf Club. 

At the age of 17, Martin migrated to the United States in an attempt to receive a golf scholarship with the help of College Prospects of America.

Moreover, Martin won four titles in college events playing for the Colorado State Rams and graduated in 2004 with a degree in marketing.

Until 2007, Martin played a total of 27 events for the Nationwide Tour. This helped him place his PGA card.
