According to local news sources, Taylor was discovered dead in a hotel room in Bogota, Colombia, where the band was supposed to perform at a festival.

Following the tragedy, they stated that they will not be playing at the Festival Estéreo Picnic in the capital.

Hawkins was an important part of the Foo Fighters’ soundscape, having joined the band in 1997 following two years as Alanis Morissette’s drummer.

As per Variety, the Foo Fighters had engaged a complete band to produce their second album, “The Colour and the Shape,” after Grohl’s solo debut in 1995. However, drummer William Goldsmith departed the band during the sessions, and Grohl re-recorded the sections.
