Reddit: Caleb Swanigan Weight Loss and Weight Gain Journey – His Before & After Photos

Caleb Swanigan, a former NBA player and outstanding basketball player for Purdue, passed away on Tuesday at the age of 25. As the news is making rounds, the cause of his death is being searched intensively on the Internet.

The athlete’s family is yet to reveal what actually happened to him media reports it is natural causes. However, Reddit has a different theory blaming his weight loss journey for his death.

Swanigan finally quit basketball as a result of his fight with weight gain. Following his retirement from the NBA, Swanigan attempted a career in rap music. However, even before that, he affectionately adopted the moniker “Biggie.”

Swanigan also garnered recognition for his persistent health concerns, as well as a narcotics accusation in 2021.

He weighed 118 kgs at the time of his death. He could maintain his body leading to many health issues towards the end. It was not like the star never tried to lose weight but could not sustain it.

We can clearly differentiate his weight between 2015 and 2022. With each passing year, he has a different body structure each year. Even though the web records show him being 113 kgs to 118 kgs, the photos do not lie.

Carl Swanigan Sr., Swanigan’s father, passed away in 2014 at the age of 50 as a result of complications from diabetes.

Swanigan struggled with controlling his weight as he grew older. He acquired his propensity for obesity from his father, just like he did his height. He ultimately regained control of his physique with the aid of his adoptive father, professional athlete Roosevelt Barnes, who was in his prime.

Swanigan revealed to ESPN in 2017 that before the age of 13, he attended 13 different schools and resided in five different homeless shelters. He was taken in by AAU coach Roosevelt Barnes in the ninth grade, and Barnes trained him all the way through high school at Fort Wayne, Indiana’s Homestead High. There, he won a state championship, received the McDonald’s All-American honor, and was awarded Indiana Mr. Basketball.

Further, Caleb shattered the single-season records for rebounds and double-doubles at Purdue by the time he transferred out following his second year. In 2020, the Big Ten Network honored him on their All-Decade Basketball Team.
