Shakira is back on her feet and showing off that signature smile following a recent hospitalization for severe abdominal pain.
Dressed casually in a black hoodie and matching pants, she kept a low profile behind oversized sunglasses, but her warmth shone through as she waved to fans and blew kisses while exiting the hotel.
It had been a tough weekend for the 48-year-old singer, who was gearing up to perform in Lima as part of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran world tour when she suddenly fell ill. Just hours before she was scheduled to take the stage, she shared her situation with fans in an emotional Instagram post.
“I am sorry to inform you all that last night I had to go to the ER for an abdominal issue and am currently hospitalized,” she wrote.
Doctors recommended that she rest, which meant she had to cancel the show—something that left her feeling devastated.
“I am very sad to not be able to take the stage today. I’ve been looking forward to reuniting with my incredible fans here in Peru,” she added.
Determined to keep everyone updated, she expressed hope for a quick recovery. “I hope to be released and well tomorrow so I’m able to perform,” she wrote, noting that her team was already working on rescheduling the concert. She concluded with a heartfelt message: “Thank you all for your understanding. I love you all. Shak.”
Now that her recovery is progressing well, all attention is on her upcoming performance in Colombia on February 20. Following that, she will tour through South America, Mexico, Canada, and the United States, concluding the tour in San Francisco at the end of June.

The singer was hospitalized just weeks after she made a stunning appearance at the Grammys with her sons, Milan and Sasha. It was a particularly memorable evening as her latest album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, won the award for Best Latin Pop Album.
When she took the stage to accept the award, she seized the opportunity to share an impactful message.
“I want to dedicate this award to all my immigrant brothers and sisters in this country. You are loved. You are worth it. I will always fight with you,” she expressed.
She also took a moment to honor hardworking women everywhere. “To all those women who work tirelessly every day to support their families, you are the true She Wolves. So this is for you too,” she added, referencing her 2009 hit She Wolf.
