Later, Shemara attended Sydney’s elite $34,000-a-year Ascham School. She then quickly rose up to become a well-established lawyer and banekr.

In one of the interviews, her father Ranji told that the family had enjoyed a life of privilege growing up in Sri Lanka. But they fell on tough time before finally settling in Australia in 1975.

Furthermore, the Wikramanayakes come from a long line of highly educated barristers and powerful figures. Ranji had graduated from medical school in 1958. Later in the same year, he moved to London with his wife Amara.

The couple settled open in England and started their family. In 1960, they gave birth to their first daughter Roshana. Next year, Shemara was born.

As of now, Shamara’s older sister Roshana is a senior policy lawyer at the NSW Bar Association. Likewise, her younger brother works at the Southern Highlands Private Hospital in Bowral as a surgeon.
