Taylor Swift has been honored as IFPI’s Global Recording Artist of the Year for 2024, marking her third consecutive year at the top and a record-breaking fifth time overall.
The International Federation Of The Phonographic Industry (IFPI) has officially announced that Swift is the Global Recording Artist of the Year for 2024. This award is determined by an artist’s performance worldwide across streaming, downloads, and physical music formats throughout the year.
Swift’s album, THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT, released in April 2024, dominated several IFPI global charts. It reached the top of the Global Album Chart, Global Vinyl Album Chart, Global Streaming Album Chart, and Global Album Sales Chart.
The album sold 5.6 million copies globally in 2024 and set a record for the most-streamed album in a single day in 2024, achieving this milestone in less than 12 hours after its release.

This surge in interest led to a revival of her earlier albums, including 1989 (Taylor’s Version), Midnights, folklore, evermore, and Lover, all of which made it into the Top 20 of IFPI’s 2024 Global Vinyl Album Chart.
