Tracy Morgan is stepping back into the spotlight with an exciting new NBC comedy pilot, reuniting him with his longtime collaborators from 30 Rock, Tina Fey, Robert Carlock, and Sam Means.
The untitled single-camera series will center on Morgan as a disgraced former football player determined to rebuild his tarnished reputation. Beyond starring in the lead role, Morgan will also take on executive producer duties alongside Fey, Carlock, Means, Eric Gurian, and David Miner.
Rhys Thomas, known for his work on Saturday Night Live, is set to direct and executive produce the pilot. The show is being developed by Universal Television in collaboration with Little Stranger, Bevel Gears, and 3 Arts.
This marks yet another creative partnership between Morgan and Fey, whose professional relationship dates back to their time together on Saturday Night Live and later on the Emmy-winning 30 Rock.
